By Next Level Plumbing Inc. | No-Dig Technology & Pipe Bursting Specialists
For decades, the words “sewer repair” struck fear into the hearts of homeowners in Nevada, MO. It meant one thing: Destruction.
To fix a broken pipe buried 6 feet underground, plumbers had to bring in a backhoe. They would rip up your manicured lawn, tear through your flower beds, and often smash your concrete driveway or patio. You were left with a fixed pipe, yes—but also a muddy trench running through your property and thousands of dollars in landscaping repairs.
At Next Level Plumbing Inc., we believe there is a better way. We use advanced “Trenchless” technology to replace your sewer line without turning your yard into a construction zone. It is faster, cleaner, and longer-lasting.
The Difference: Open Trench vs. Pipe Bursting
Traditional repair is invasive. Trenchless repair is surgical. Specifically, we use a method called Pipe Bursting.
The Secret Weapon: HDPE Pipe
The real hero of trenchless repair isn’t the machine; it’s the pipe itself. We use High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE).
Unlike standard PVC which is glued together in sections (creating joints that can leak or attract roots), HDPE is fused together with heat. It becomes one single, continuous piece of plastic from your house to the main.
- Root Proof: Because there are no joints, tree roots have zero entry points.
- Flexible: If the ground shifts or settles (common in Missouri clay), the pipe bends instead of breaking.
- 100-Year Life: This material is so durable it is used for municipal gas mains. It will likely outlast the house itself.
But Isn’t It More Expensive?
Upfront? Sometimes. Overall? Almost never.
The “sticker price” of trenchless repair might be 20-30% higher than traditional digging because of the specialized equipment and materials involved. But that price comparison is misleading because it ignores the Restoration Costs.
| Expense Category | Traditional Digging | Trenchless Method |
|---|---|---|
| Plumbing Cost | $4,000 – $6,000 | $5,500 – $7,500 |
| Driveway Repair | $1,500 – $3,000 | $0 (Saved) |
| Landscaping/Sod | $500 – $1,500 | $0 (Saved) |
| Total Project Cost | $6,000 – $10,500 | $5,500 – $7,500 |
Can Every Pipe be Burst?
While trenchless is amazing, it isn’t magic. There are two scenarios where we must dig:
- The “Belly”: If your old pipe has a sag (a belly) where water collects, pipe bursting will just follow that same bad path. We have to dig to fix the slope.
- Total Collapse: If the old pipe has completely collapsed and blocked the path, we can’t feed the cable through.
This is why every project starts with a camera inspection. We verify if you are a candidate for trenchless repair before we quote the job.
